Overview
Vapor Gard® full-coverage anti-transpirant and anti-desiccant spray is a Pinolene® terpene polymer-based product for use on specialty crops to reduce plant evapotranspiration. Vapor Gard® forms a soft, protective film over the plant surface that reduces the loss of water vapor, minimizing the effects of drought stress. This protective film does not interfere with photosynthesis, which allows for normal growth and development to continue. Vapor Gard® and the rest of our portfolio of solutions are meticulously engineered to promote larger and healthier crops while also helping to mitigate the effects of abiotic stress.

How Does It Work?
Once applied and dried, Vapor Gard® anti-transpirant for plants forms a soft, flexible film over the plant surfaces. This film has the ability to stretch following its initial deposition, providing protection even when growth occurs. This slows down the transpiration and moisture loss of your crop, allowing plant moisture resources to be preserved and concentrated on fruit development. This moisture can then be utilized by the plant yielding a potential increase in crop size, weight, and quality. Vapor Gard, when applied, also helps mitigate cold and wind desiccation effects.
Key Crops
Initially thought to be poisonous, Tomatoes (Solanum lycopersicum), are a flowering plant of the nightshade family (Solanaceae). They are cultivated extensively today for their edible fruits. Tomatoes grow best in full sun and nutrient rich soils. The top US states based on tomato production for fresh market usage are California and Florida but are common among home gardeners all over.
Bell pepper (Capsicum annuum), also called sweet pepper or capsicum, are a pepper cultivar in the nightshade family (Solanaceae). These peppers are grown for their thick, mild fruits. Frequently found in a range of colors such as green, yellow, orange, and red, all these varieties are the same crop just picked at varying levels of ripening. Bell peppers are unique in the fact that unlike other members of the Capsicum family, they do not produce the compound called capsaicin, which is the compound responsible for the burning sensation felt when spicy peppers are consumed. Bell peppers score a zero on the Scoville unit scale.
Apples, fruit of the domesticated tree Malus domestica (family Rosaceae), are one of the most widely cultivated tree fruits. The apple is a pome fruit, in which the ripened ovary and surrounding tissue both become fleshy and edible. In the US, there are 2,500 varieties of apples are grown. Around the world, there are 7,500 varieties of apples grown, while commercially, only 100 varieties of the most widely consumed apples are grown in the US. The crabapple is the only type of apple native to North America.
Tree nuts represent any of the plethora of nut varieties we enjoy daily that are cultivated from trees. These include such crops as almonds, walnuts, hazelnuts, pistachios, pecans, cashews, and Brazil nuts. Grown in various regions throughout the world, these crops represent staple food items in a variety of cultures and cuisines.
Originating in southeastern Asia, Citrus crops are among the oldest crops to be domesticated by humans. Now widely grown in tropical and subtropical areas around the world, multiple different citrus varieties are enjoyed by consumers. Citrus crops belong to a genus of plants belonging to the rue family (Rutaceae). Citrus plants yield pulpy fruits covered with thick skins and are typically evergreen trees or shrubs with glossy oval-shaped leaves. At various stages in their lifecycle, many species have thorns. Growers combine years of experience with new technology to utilize new citrus crop solutions to provide a nutritious and widely enjoyed crop.
