Wine Grapes
Wine Grapes
There are more than 8,000 grape varieties known, and more than 1,300 varieties are currently used to make wine around the world. Vineyards cover roughly 18 million acres (almost 7.5 million hectares) across the globe, with Spain, China, France, Italy, Turkey, and the US being the top grape growing countries. The type of soil wine grapes are grown in tends to contribute different flavor notes in wine. California is the fourth-largest wine producer in the world, behind France, Italy, and Spain.
Pruning Wounds
Pruning plants is an important management technique to encourage lateral growth, mitigate pest and disease pressure, as well as improve overall fruiting quality. The act of pruning can also pose a risk for the entry of bacteria and other pathogens to enter, compromising plant health. Spur Shield® is not a fungicide but rather a proprietary nature-based sealant. It creates a barrier against many wood pathogens that enter cuts and wounds assisted by rainfall. The combination of cleansing and sealing properties is especially effective in areas where the pruning season is cold and wet.
Spur Shield®
Spur Shield® is a Pinolene® based resin barrier that may be sprayed on pruning cuts and bark surfaces to seal wounds and inhibit water and bacteria from entering surface cuts.
Insecticide Applications
Insects and various other pests can arrive seemingly without warning and cause significant damage to crops, severely impacting overall yield. The methods for controlling these pests varies based upon the pest itself. The unique ability to increase the speed at which translocation occurs is what defines Exit®. With this unique ability, pesticides requiring rapid translocation or translaminar movement of active ingredients are the ideal tank mix partners.
Exit®
Exit® is an activator-adjuvant comprising a blend of premium-quality esterified seed oil with a proprietary surfactant and humectant system.
Fungicide Applications
Plant disease can be devastating to the overall health and productivity of a plant, especially during critical crop production periods. In order to best control certain plant diseases, some solutions require your fungicide to remain active and in contact with the leaf surface for an extended period of time. Nu-Film-P® is uniquely formulated to be combined with fungicides that require residual activity on the leaf or fruit surface. These include contact fungicides that have direct fungistatic activity on bacteria or spores.
Nu-Film® P
Nu-Film® P is a superior deposition, spreader, and sticker adjuvant with non-ionic properties based on proprietary Miller technology containing Pinolene®.
Post Bloom Applications
At any given time, a plant is working to store nutrients in preparation for nutritionally taxing processes. In order for that plant to perform at as high of a level as possible, supplementation of key nutrients is important. Nutrient Express® 4-41-27 delivers a heavier phosphorus and potassium load to allow for more carbohydrate stores within the plant as well as assists in the development of ATP . Our proprietary Transcuticular Delivery System® enhances plant uptake of the nutrients through the tough woody exterior of grape vines and leaves.
Nutrient Express®
Nutrient Express® is a premium quality foliar fertilizer, unique in the market and exclusively offered by Miller.
Coloring
During periods of rapid growth, fruit development and ripening, plants require energy for proper physiological development and high levels of calcium for fruit quality. Physiological and environmental crop stress slows down plant metabolism and the movement of calcium within plant tissue. Consequently, plants suffer, and crop development is weakened, while fruit frequently lacks the necessary nutrients (including calcium) required for optimum harvest quality. Calexin® translocates through the phloem and xylem increasing calcium mobilization to fruit while supporting natural color development.
Calexin®
Calexin® is a translaminar calcium formulation which works to supplement with the plant's natural ripening and coloring stages.
